Christopher A. Copps


Chris has more than three decades of experience working in finance, wealth management advisory, private equity, venture capital and real estate. He was a Managing Director in the Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch for 14 years. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Chris was a Founding Partner of the Southern California office of Hambrecht and Quist, Senior Vice President at JP Morgan, and Senior Vice President at Kidder Peabody. Chris began his career in the Midwest as a real estate investor and syndicator, focusing on multifamily apartments and office buildings.

Chris is a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Margaret’s Episcopal School and is the Chairman Emeritus of the Ocean Institute Board in Dana Point, CA. He also served on the Board of Directors of South Coast Repertory Theatre and the New Majority.

An avid outdoor enthusiast, Chris enjoys golf, tennis, volleyball, and skiing with his family at their vacation home in Telluride, Colorado.

Chris lives in Laguna Beach, California with his wife and two sons.
