Nick Cosky, CFP®
Partner & Wealth Advisor
Nick has always enjoyed working with people and numbers, yet the most significant influence that drew him to wealth management was his time at the Smithsonian Institution. There he saw firsthand as individual donors and successful families made gifts to the Institution—gifts that would benefit this generation and beyond. He was fascinated with the idea that “someone could build their wealth to the point that they’d have the resources to support the greater good.”
Nick recognizes that working with his clients is about more than helping them navigate their finances. Many clients come to us with a great understanding of certain aspects of their financial lives, but they need help in other areas to pull the whole picture together. Adding understanding or knowledge where it is needed, Nick helps his clients create a holistic view of what they can achieve during their lifetime.
Being involved in relationships where he can make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives is what inspires Nick. Whether he’s helping someone transition through a change in their life or thinking through a difficult decision, Nick realizes that trust and rapport drive all client relationships.
Before relocating to Chicago and joining the team, Nick was a financial advisor at an RIA firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also worked for the Smithsonian Institution and Foreign Policy magazine in Washington, DC. Nick graduated from Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, with majors in history and English. He earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification through Boston University’s Institute of Finance. Nick contributed to the article “4 Money Disasters You Can Head Off Tomorrow” in Inc. magazine and has been mentioned in the Daily Herald Business Ledger and Heritage Magazine for The Intelligent Collector.
